Join UCL Ltd
We're looking for skilled, practical and motivated people to join UCL Ltd, working on the repair, protection, cleaning and maintenance of critical water infrastructure.
Whether you already have experience in concrete repair, coatings, confined spaces or water industry maintenance, or you have transferable trade skills and want to develop into specialist infrastructure work, we want to hear from you.
Pay
£14–£20 per hour, depending on experience
Location
Projects primarily across the Wessex Water and Thames Water regions. Ideally, applicants will be based within approximately one hour of Purton, Swindon.
What kind of work will you be doing?
The work is varied and can include:
- Concrete repair and structural maintenance
- Trowel-applied repair and finishing work
- Waterproofing systems
- Hand-applied and spray-applied protective coatings

- Working within sewage and wastewater treatment environments
- Working within clean-water treatment environments
- Cleaning and maintaining water and wastewater assets
- Jet washing and other specialist cleaning techniques
- Cleaning and chlorinating clean-water assets
- General operative and maintenance duties across water infrastructure sites
Projects can involve challenging working environments and specialist procedures, so a practical approach, attention to detail and willingness to work safely as part of a team are important.
You don't need to tick every box
We're not expecting every applicant to have experience in every discipline listed above.
You may already be an experienced water industry operative. You might come from concrete repair, coatings, construction, civils, industrial cleaning or another hands-on trade.
What matters is that you have relevant practical skills, the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
Where additional skills or certifications are required, further training can be provided.
